Divinely Wicked

Don't ask me how it happened, but last week I was asked to brush up my costuming skills for a public service announcement for Goodwill of Texas' big annual fundraiser, The Ghoulwill Ball. My darling friend Erin and I got up early to do my make up, and after some last minute mishaps, ended up throwing together a pretty divine angel outfit for her from our Charm School + Coco Coquette arsenal and having her join the shoot. The whole experience was a blast, but I think my favorite part was the look on the valet's face when we rolled up to the W in my old VW van... angel and devil, mountain of old clothes in the back, and all!

I drive like a devil, too.

Hey, angel...

Gorgeous, right?

I found it surprisingly easy to be the wicked one.

Love this girl.

Can't wait to see how it all turns out!
Thanks so much to Erin for her beautiful make up and helping out in a pinch, Tara from Goodwill for inviting me to help, to Carolyn of Noun Masks for lending me these amazing leather horns, and Alanna for her spiritual guidance in finding my inner devil. You're the best!

Tribal jewels

Between last month's trip to Colorado and little cleaning out of my own jewelry box, there are some amazing  jewelry gems out in the store right now. In my book, you can't beat chunky tribal jewelry for versatility and impact. Throw a big necklace with bells and dangles on any plain dress or t-shirt and you've got an instant conversation-starting outfit. Or be bold and turn that necklace into a bohemian headband, or wear it around your waist as a belt, or wrap it around your wrist a few times as a bracelet.
The possibilities are endless, and always attention grabbing, so stop by the store and come play!

Thanks for looking!

Ballerina doe

Vintage Vivant is easily one of my favorite events of the month, and last night's circus-themed extravaganza was no exception. There were bearded belly dancers, nails hammered into noses, cotton candy, side show exhibits, fabulous music... not to mention tons of my favorite people decked out in their craziest carnival gear. If you missed last night's party, you really have to go to the next one because they just keep getting more and more fabulous.
Just see for yourself!

I fashioned this bit for Allyson's INCREDIBLE show pony costume just before we left.
Cheers!

Finally, a chance to wear the amazing antler headdress Amelia made for me!
(Disregard the costume carnage in the background.)

Norah's mind blowing half-man, half-woman outfit.

This gentleman always looks so handsome.
